adidas Originals Marbella – size? exclusive

In the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, adidas took fans on a trip around the most sought-after vacation spots of the time with its ‘European Holiday Destination’ series. Made up of 8 parts, this pack included the Rimini, Palma, Mallorca, Marbella, Ibiza, Meran, Bozen and Costa silhouettes. Unfortunately, a number of these models have been lost to time; however, we’re bringing the Marbella back as a size? exclusive that truly honours its ancestor.

Originally a ‘Made in West Germany’ design, the Marbella was dressed in deep oceanic blue tones with a unique sole unit that translated across the entire series. Today, our exclusive is wrapped in a similar darkened blue shade, with touches of lighter blue hues on the detailing, evoking memories of the clear sky and sea that the island is famous for.

Just like the Palma and recently rereleased Mallorca, the upper stays mainly uninterrupted with perforated 3-Stripes on the sidewalls, while an elongated eyestay enforces a shorter toe. A leather lining maintains the more formal tone of the original, reminiscing on a day-to-night resort aesthetic that still works today. Anchoring the design is the familiar navy rubber sole unit that stays true to the blueprint.
