Meet the Premium Classics Collection from Vans
Straight from Costa Mesa, California, Vans announces the arrival of a collection of Premium Classics – famed footwear that’s been reconsidered in terms of enhanced comfort, elevated design and contemporary construction. Through the lens of form, fit and feel, the brand evolves timeless styles to craft a seamless fit with new anti-fatigue Sola Foam insoles while reinstating iconic design details from Vans archives.
Informed by years of research and development, the new Sola Foam high-rebound polyurethane foam footbed offers optimum comfort and durability with a 30% biobased content crafted from plants. Impressive. The refined build also features premium canvas materials, a modified shape and construction for an understated upgrade.
Reintroducing lost details from the ‘90s era, the Premium Classics collection includes the Sk8-Mid 83 and the Old Skool 36 – it wouldn’t be Classics without them. Looking for more flex in footwear, skateboarders would use the DIY spirit and take scissors to their high tops, cutting them down to the ankles. The iconic Sk8-Mid was introduced as a direct response to skateboarders’ ever-evolving needs, and now, the Premium Sk8-Mid 83 brings back retro toe box stitching, a single-row collar, a slimmer Sidestripe and a higher glossed sidewall.
Debuting in 1977, Style #36 was the second skate shoe ever to be created by Vans and the first to feature the iconic Sidestripe – cementing its place in footwear history. The Premium Old Skool 36 boasts archival design details, including a higher glossed sidewall and foxing tape with original ‘90s Osnaburg reinforcement.
