adidas Originals Hamburg ’24
First released in 1982 as a part of the iconic ‘City Series’, the Hamburg was quickly adopted by scores of football fans as they travelled across Europe to follow their team. You probably already know all about adidas’ ‘City Series’, but in case you’re unfamiliar, let us fill you in.
Introduced throughout the 1970s/early 1980s, the collection chronicled 24 European cities, with each commemorative shoe characterised by a unique colourway. Many of the silhouettes have gone on to receive cult status among collectors, so when new 2024 colourways started to circulate, they were welcomed with open arms.
And next on the agenda, we’re off to the ports of northern Germany – say hallo to the Hamburg ‘24. The low-cut suede silhouette first touched down in 1982 and is back to inspire a new generation of fans. A palatable combination of ‘Crystal Sand’ suede with orange split stripes, injects colour onto the low-profile build taking inspiration from Hamburg’s authentic Fischmarkt – the beating heart of the German city. Summer-ready, the upper is accented with the classic T-toe, gold foil Hamburg ’24 branding – nodding to this year’s Euros – and rests on the traditional gum rubber sole that we’ve all come to know and love.
