A modern lifestyle shoe infused with cutting-edge tech, the NMD first made its debut back in 2015 at the helm of adi’s VC Global Designer Nick Galway. Paying homage to some of the label’s archival silhouettes like the Micro Pacer and Boston Super, the NMD was inspired by the past and looked forward to a new future. It wasn’t long before the shoe gained classic status with its Primeknit BOOST technologies.

Reimagining the running aesthetic, the adidas Originals NMD returns with an ‘S1’ moniker standing for ‘Sneaker 1’. Arriving in two offerings with ‘Core Black’ and ‘Altered Blue’ colour palette and a crisp white colourway, these silhouettes feature the traditional sock-like Primeknit upper delivering, breathable, flexible comfort. Branding decorates the laterals and thick bungee lacing adds to the futuristic feel while a micro-engineered BOOST midsole delivered energy-returning cushioning. Groundwork-wise, the exaggerated midsole sits atop a grippy rubber outsole that has a Trefoil tread pattern adding a dose of sportswear heritage.
