Back in 2020, we celebrated the Euros with a football themed trio of adidas Originals, including the iconic Gazza Gazelle that caused quite the hype. With our sights now on the World Cup, we wanted to pay some more homages to three legendary moments from the tournament’s history. Now, we haven’t worked on the Marathon TR for a long time, and this one is super special with a rich blue colourway and the classic triple Trefoil tread pattern. Now, as this is part of our ‘World Cup’ Pack, this isn’t just a really nice revamp for the Marathon TR; it nods one of the most notorious moments from the tournament. We’ll give you a clue – it was an icon’s last professional game representing France in the FIFA 2006 World Cup. We are sure that you’ll remember this one. Once again, both team colours are represented on the sidewalls and the date of the game is engraved onto the inner. Mesh is replaced with suede for a more compact upper, while cushioned midsoles and grippy soles complete this running icon with a football twist.

First, let’s look at the AS 250, a shoe that is super important to us, and with the resurgence of the Samba, this clean and crisp silhouette will be a highlight of the pack. We are venturing back to 2006 for this one, chronicling the England vs Portugal game. Nothing screams controversy like this game – we are sure that you can guess this bit of dark arts heritage. Asymmetric 3-Stripes nod to both teams on the lateral and medial sidewalls, while the date of the game sits on the inner. Premium leather features with soft suede details and classic branding is seen throughout. Classic gum soles finish this gem off.

Another controversial moment; another heartbreak – introducing the next football-themed Gazelle. Referencing one of the many times that Argentina have got the best of England on the pitch, this shoe is a time capsule back to 1998 – and one of England’s most iconic stars. It’s seemingly quite easy to get in the heads of English football stars and this shoe will remain in your mind for some time after first sight. This one features a rich blue suede upper with team colours on both sides of 3-Stripes. Shiny branding sits on the lateral sidewall too and stick rubber soles are fitted with a red patch for a nod to the dreaded card. What’s more, the shoe has the date of the game on the inner.

The adidas Originals ‘World Cup Moments’ Pack – ?exclusive draws open 15.11.2022 and close 21.11.2022. They are priced between £80 and £90, arriving in men’s and women’s sizes.
