We headed to Kam’s Pawn Shop for our third re-size?
Well, we certainly had another successful re-size? instalment with JoJo from JoJo’s General Store in Sheffield, seeing a crazy pair of adidas TRXs get auctioned off. A real terrace classic, the second re-size? instalment offered something really different to the Nike Air YEEZY 1 from the first instalment.
With both of them boxed off and sent to two happy new owners, we venture into another episode of this celebration of all things sneakers. This time, we thought we’d head to the Midlands to catch up with one of Birmingham’s sneaker legends – Kam (Kam’s Pawn Shop). With a culture of ‘BUY SELL TRADE’, Kam’s establishment really emphasizes what re-size? is all about.
There’s a passion for sneaker culture here – and the rest – that is organically formed through the stories behind each pair and seller who walks through the doors. Whether it’s the shoes, apparel, jewellery – and everything in between – Kam’s Pawn Shop is the go-to in Brum for products you simply can’t find anywhere else.
Kam and Anardo showed us around the store, talking us through crazily rare products, in-store games and their insane collection of sneakers for the re-size? project – which we had the pleasure of choosing four of.
Our choices? We ended up picking the Nike Air Max 90 x Dave White ‘Wet Paint Pack’ – size? Exclusive, one of our own; the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Cali’ from 2004, a sunny silhouette with the colours of the Californian State flag; the Made in UK New Balance 1500 x Crooked Tongues; and the final pair, the Nike x Stash Air Max 95, boasting graffiti details and the classic ’95 build.
Be sure to have your say on which shoe that we add to our next re-size? draw. Head to our socials now to get involved.
