For the launch of the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Light Madder Root’, we caught up for a chat with the singer, DJ and producer Nia Archives who filled us in on what inspires her music and what she hopes to achieve through her platform.

Having achieved so much in her career already, she told us that “things that I thought were five years away, I’ve been blessed enough to experience this year.”

She hopes to use this platform to inspire other young black women in the industry to follow in her footsteps, and the idea of a legacy is a driving force behind her work – “I’ve got to leave something behind and I think it’s amazing that my music will live longer than I ever will.”

Influenced by the places and people around her, Nia transforms her emotions and experiences into something tangible which will last forever.
