Intending to champion, support and elevate the next generation of talent, we are super excited to team up with Sound City once again for the return of the size? Artist Training And Development Programme Powered by CAPLL. Last year was a huge success, offering fresh talent the chance to gain an insight into the music industry, whether that was with mentors, masterclasses, or professional insights.

After launching it in 2021, we supported a vast array of artists from The North West, including Tilly Louise, Medley, Recky Reckz, Fauna, Ask Elliot, Half Long Poem, Evie Moran, Fiona Lennon, Remée, Jane Lacey and SKIA. Now, we venture into another year, and with venues, gigs and festivals more likely to stay booked, it is an exciting time to get involved in this building block for a brighter, more creative future.

Last year also saw some incredible guest speakers, including Shell Zenner (Amazing Radio/BBC Introducing), Dwayne Young (Sony Music Publishing & Vanguard Music Group), Karima Kingsley (Sound Engineer & Tour Manager – Wet Leg/Jorja Smith) and Estella Adeyeri (Big Joanie). For 2022, we are looking to continue this amazing guidance, we’ll be inviting to the roster: Dan Jones (PRS) and Jennifer John (Vocal Coach Composer & Music Mentor) alongside many more.

Stepping into a physical setting this year, the famed Liverpool Arts Bar is set to act as the hub for artists involved in the programme to utilise Peer 2 Peer meetings in a greater capacity – offering a more connected and personable programme into 2022.

Applications for the size? Artist Training And Development Programme Powered By CAPLL are now open.

Hamza Malik – Artist / 2021 Programme Alumni

“It boosted my confidence, allowed me to meet & speak to people around the industry that I wouldn’t have had a chance to, gave me the chance to have my first ever live performance as a rapper and is something I’ll never forget.”

Speaking about the 2021 size? Artist Training And Development Programme, Jennnifer John said:

“I found the vocal masterclass for Sound City not only really professionally organised but extremely inspiring too. All of the young participants, who are emerging artists, were fully engaged, very responsive and motivated. The range of participants was refreshingly diverse too with a wide cross section of musical genres represented.”

Chris Bevan, Associate Director of Digital & Marketing at size?, commented on the programme:

“We’re delighted to be launching the second year of the size? Artist Training And Development Programme Powered By CAPLL. Being able to provide a platform for so many incredible grassroots artists to make their first marks on the music industry is something very important to all of us at size? – and with more incredible mentors/speakers to be announced in the coming weeks, we can’t wait to get started in welcoming the next generation of thrilling new artists”.
