In 2021, we have been delving into the adidas archive again, bringing you some of the best-hidden gems. For example, our recent exclusive adidas Originals Tobacco GORE-TEX took design cues from some 1970s adidas silhouettes made in France and Hungary. We are now introducing another City Series trainer, a highly sought-after design from the late 1970s – the Napoli.

Originally made in Japan in 1977, this striking trainer has a strong reputation with 3-Stripe devotees. We are bringing back the classic trainer with design cues taken from the OG. Named after the Italian term for Naples, the Napoli has links to the famed Italian city that is renowned for its rich history, food culture, and of course, its iconic football club.

Like much of the City Series, the trainer opts for buttery soft suede on its upper and this is coated in a bold red. Crisp white leather features on the serrated 3-Stripes and Trefoil heel patch, matching up with the laces, lining and tongue branding. Underfoot, we keep things classic with a gum sole, really enhancing its terrace aesthetic.

The adidas Originals Napoli – size? Exclusive is out Friday 25th June and it comes in men’s and women’s sizes. Also, it is priced at £85 – good luck!
