A look at Nike’s latest Air Max 90 Garage/Grime pack
Nike is taking inspiration from UK music for its latest Air Max 90 Garage/Grime pack. The release celebrates two music scenes interwoven in London’s rich melting pot of music in the ‘90s and ’00s.
Garage music and pirate radio stations eventually evolved into grime and, as you probably know, the rest is history. It did not stop with music though, the fashion which emerged was legendary too, and the AM90 silhouette was the defining trainer – hence why Nike is paying homage for this release.
Two striking remodels join this release, full of details which pay homage to garage and grime. One pair opts for classic smooth leather uppers with deluxe hits of gold across the sidewall Swooshes and a lace tag up top. The other Nike AM90 Garage/Grime trainer sports blue, red and grey uppers with authentic embroidered sidewall Swooshes.
Both models feature radio-wave graphics merged with branding on the heel, and there are foot-supporting Air units in the midsole to offer that signature Nike AM90 look. Both outsoles also feature an iconic skull logo, a nostalgic symbol which pays homage to OG pirate radio stations.
Nike’s latest Air Max 90 Garage/Grime pack is out on Tuesday 2nd February and is available on the size? launches app. It comes in men’s and women’s sizes and is priced at £125.
