Nike’s refreshing Air Max 1 ‘Strawberry Lemonade’ is back
Back in ’06 – as Nike celebrated the History of Air to launch the then debut of the Air Max 360 – the brand launched a series of 56 silhouettes to tell the evolutionary story of the Air Max. Sitting within this 56 was the famed ‘Powerwall’ Air Max 1 collection; and now, 14 years on, the famed silhouette is back in an updated, Powerwall-inspired ‘Strawberry Lemonade’ take.
With elements picked from the archive – pun intended – Nike decorates the 1987 icon with fruit graphics to the tongue and footbed as a nod to the OG collection. The Air pattern across the top has been printed in a reflective material to keep you visible when the lights go down, and as you’d expect, the model that first debuted the feat of cushioning engineering lands with visible Air-technology in the heel to keep you comfortable every step of the way.
