As you all know, in 2020 we’ve been celebrating a momentous 20 years of size? by treating you all to a slew of celebratory releases. One brand we’ve worked with tirelessly over the past two decades is adidas Originals. We’ve already produced plenty of exclusives with the German-giants this year; now it’s time for us to showcase a duo of silhouettes that celebrate all things size?.

Essentially, we wanted to create silhouettes that felt very much of their time, and although one of the runners is an all-new model, we wanted it to look though we’ve just nipped back to the ’80s and plucked them from a sports shop shelf. The ZX series is one of the brands most heralded running collections, and it’s an honour to get the chance to create two of our own. So, without further adieu, let us introduce you to our ZX 5000 and ZX 10,000C collection.

Keeping things clean and classic, we’ve painted our ZX 5000 in size?-inspired shades of white, orange and black across its mesh and suede uppers. And to continue the vintage feel, we’ve covered the ’89 model’s midsole in a slightly yellowed hue for a pre-aged aesthetic. What’s more, we’ve stamped the sidewall with ‘ZX 5000’ – the very first time the moniker has decorated the pair.

We’ve also turned our hand to the latest addition to the ‘ZX’ family, the ZX 10,000 C. Designed by none other than ZX mastermind Jacques Chassaing, the retro-minded silhouette landed towards the backend of 2018, yet mirrors the ZX series’ classic design lines and retains all the charm and supportive technology of its 1980s predecessors. And again, we’ve used size?-like black, orange and grey across the mesh base and supportive suede overlays, with a vintage-looking pre-aged midsole to boot.

The underside of both models boasts one of Chassaing’s crowning achievements, the Torsion system. The solid, X-shaped innovation connects the front and the rear of the foot to prevent excessive twisting while also providing superb stability. One final standout feature of each silhouette – and a real honour for us – is our ‘?’ emblem sitting proudly on the heel, alongside fully co-branded lace-tips and footbeds for a true celebration of our 20th anniversary.

Our exclusive adidas Originals ZX 5000 & ZX 10,000C will be available via the size? launches app, and in size? stores on Friday 2nd October, priced between £100-£105 in both men’s and women’s sizes.
