adidas Originals BC Trainer ‘Summer Holidays’ Collection
adidas has a storied history with their Leisure and Island series, sadly though, the majority of models and toolings have been destroyed over the years which meane the shoes can’t physically be recreated.
So, with adidas’ classic geographical series in mind, we’ve put together an exclusive adidas Originals Archive BC Trainer ‘Summer Holidays’ collection and turned our attention to a few super-rare models from the archive for design influence.
And for the first two ‘Summer Holidays’ silhouettes, we’ve looked at two pair’s that even the most die-hard collectors will struggle to find, the adidas Originals Meran and the Ibiza.
Originally released way back in the ’70s, the Meran coined its name from the Alpine town in Italy’s South Tyrol region. The pair sported perforated 3-Stripes and a rich green suede across the top, and we’ve lifted this very shade for our latest BC Trainer release.
As we mentioned, a rich green shade sweeps across the pair’s suede uppers, with a similar green hue painting the leather 3-Stripes and heel counter. The shoe’s title sits on the lateral side in the brand’s signature golden finish, while a black rubber outsole rests underfoot as a further nod to the Meran.
On to the next pair, and this one lifts its deep blue colourway from a silhouette named after the white isle, the adidas Originals Ibiza. Just like the Meran, the Ibiza landed in the ’70s and is yet to have seen a reissue ever since – and unfortunately, it most likely never will.
As an ode to the archaic trainer, this BC Trainer lands with tonal blue hues across its suede and leather uppers, with a complementary black rubber midsole to boot.
