adidas Originals‘ Superstar is commemorating 50 years since hitting the hardwood in 2020, and the celebrations aren’t stopping any time soon as the brand has just unveiled their all-new Superstar Pure pack.

From hip-hop heads in the ’80s to streetwear stylists today – the model has transcended countless scenes and found itself on the feet of a whole myriad of subcultures over the decades. But there’s one thing that’s always remained the same; whether it’s worn on the courts in the States, the pavements of Europe or the streets of Asia, the Superstar always finds itself at home wherever it lands.

And that’s where this latest ‘Pure’ collection comes in. The series pays tribute to those aspiring for greatness, no matter where they reside on the globe. L.A & N.Y.C, London & Paris, Tokyo & Shanghai – the collection comprises of six different cities, six different personalities, and six different Superstar silhouettes.

Let’s get into the model’s then, shall we? Tokyo and Shanghai arrive tooled up in tumbled black and white Italian leather respectively. Los Angeles and New York City land in the same hues, but with sumptuously soft nubuck across the top. Finally, London and Paris take a glossy approach with a smooth coating of Italian leather.

Oh, all six Superstars do away with the usual serrated 3-Stripe overlays, opting for minimalistic perforations instead, and just as you’d expect they all boast the iconic shell-toe – well it wouldn’t be a Superstar without it, would it? As a nice finishing touch, they’re rounded off with Ortholite sockliners for long-lasting comfort no matter what city you go with.

The adidas Originals Superstar Pure collection will be available on Wednesday 15th July via the size? website and in selected size? stores, priced at £100.
