size? collections – Warren Jones – footwear collector
We’re sure you get the drift by now – our size? collections series is all about showcasing what some of our size? staff have stashed away in their collections.
This time around, however, we’ve taken a different approach and extended the series out into the wider community. So, without further ado, we bring to you self-confessed sneakerhead, coffee-lover and musician, @jwarrenjones‘ – aka Warren Jones – fantastic collection of footwear and other bits of paraphernalia.
Have a browse and hear what Warren has to say below…
Supreme x New York Yankees skateboard – Signed by Mark Gonzales
“A signed Supreme x New York Yankees skateboard. This has the best story by the way. I bumped into skating legend Mark Gonzales in NYC a couple of years ago and he was the loveliest guy ever.
I didn’t have my skateboard with me for him to sign but he offered to come back to the hotel later than day and meet me. He signed and drew on the one I was skating at the time and then I had just copped this one from ‘Round Two’ the day before (actually fate!) and he signed that one for me too. Insane. What a guy!”
Chris Lundy x Nike Dunk Low ‘Laser’ – 2003
Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’ – 1985
“These are the Nike x Chris Lundy Dunk ‘Laser’ collab from 2003 – a stunning shoe that used laser-etching techniques to create a surf-inspired upper. There was only 200 made. This is number 57.”
“Another grail of mine, these are an original pair of OG 1985 Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’. I picked these up super cheap in a terrible condition about 10 years ago in Amsterdam and they were lovingly brought back to life by my good friend Carmeno Customs.”
Signed Bape Rizzoli Book
Signed KAWS Rizzoli Book & the 2008 Gallery 1950 ceramic ashtray
“I’m a big fan of streetwear and all the little bits that come along with it. This is my Bape Rizzoli book which I was lucky enough to get signed by Nigo himself at the DSM Nowhere pop-up.”
“Here’s another Rizzoli book too, this time I actually got it signed by Kaws! There’s also my Kaws 2008 Gallery 1950 ceramic ashtray. I collect Kaws and have a lot of the toys and artwork but somehow this ashtray always seems to elicit the most reaction from people! I guess you don’t see many of them. It’s a great piece no doubt.”
