After cracking open the vault back in 2019, adidas Originals continues the revival of their sought-after European City Series for 2020, this time reissuing the Hamburg OG.
You probably already know all about adidas’ City Series, but in case you’re unfamiliar, let us fill you in:
Introduced throughout the 1970s/early 1980s, the collection chronicled 24 cities across Europe, with each commemorative shoe characterised of by a unique colourway. Many of the silhouettes have gone on to receive cult status among collectors, so when news of a City Series reissue starts to circulate it’s always welcome with open arms.
And next on the agenda, we’re off to the ports of northern Germany – say hallo to the Hamburg OG.
Last revived 2014, the low-cut suede silhouette first touched down in 1982 and quickly became a fan favourite throughout the terrace scene. It’s remained as popular as ever since its reintroduction a few years back, but there hasn’t been a colourway as celebrated as the OG.
So it must be music to the ears of all you adidas aficionados that the palatable combination of navy suede with white leather for the 3-Stripes and heel branding is back once more. This time around though there’s one slight tweak from last time: the model’s rubber outsole sports a slightly lighter shade – taking it one step closure to the ’80s OG.
The adidas Originals City Series Hamburg OG will be available on the size? website and in selected size? stores at 11pm on Friday 6th March and priced at £85.
