For many of us, it’s hard to remember a time before adidas Originals‘ ZX series. The legendary lineage has produced a host of innovative technologies over the years – such as ZX ‘000s’ series Torsion tech in the ‘90s – which helped eliminate pesky problems runners faced. The trailblazing series continues to roll out all-new models right up until today, but its origins lie in 1984, kicking off with the ’00s’ series and the pioneering ZX 500.

Taking you on a trip down memory lane, the seminal silhouette returns exclusively to size? in all its OG glory. Sporting a comfy combination of breathable nylon mesh and supportive suede reinforcements up top, we’ve painted the ZX 500 in a clean grey, white and red colourway.

Just like back in ’84, the model boasts a dual-density EVA midsole that provides you with supportive cushioning underfoot, while a plastic moulded heel counter helps to keep your feet stable and reduce the risk of injury.

A ghilly-loop lace system makes fastening a breeze and enables you to tighten your laces from the top to the bottom with one quick pull, while a padded foam collar serves up plush comfort from the moment you step in. A rubber piston-stud outsole finishes the pair, absorbing the impact of your foot hitting the floor and returning the energy into your next stride, as well as stopping you from slipping.
