adidas Originals Archive Kegler Super ‘Red/Yellow’ – size? Exclusive

Following up from our Kegler Super ‘Running Spike’ iteration, the next instalment to our Archive collaboration with adidas Originals sees us dip into adidas’ vault once more; this time wrapping the Kegler in a famous colourway which was made exclusive to Japan upon its initial release. We’ll get on to those colour details shortly, but before that, a little about the Kegler’s history.

The Kegler Super began life in 1979 for the German indoor bowling sport Kegeln. Its innovative peg system was popular at the time, as it allowed the wearer to switch out the pegs in the heel to suit their own cushioning needs. What’s more, the pair utilised suede across the toe cap to enhance durability when the wearer’s toes dragged across the floor – a nifty bit of tech which has been included in this latest pair.

Reaching into adidas Originals’ past, this bold ‘Red/Yellow’ colourway takes inspiration from the made in Japan ‘Athens’ from the late 1980s/early ’90s. The silhouette’s standout style and two-tone colour combination has been cemented in adidas folklore through the years, and here, it blends seamlessly onto the uppers of the Kegler Super.

The same brushed bright red suede is used on the uppers, overlaid with contrasting yellow leather to the signature three stripes and heel tab. Signing things off, a classic two-tone hexagonal outsole is positioned underfoot, providing you with tailored traction to the surface.

The size? Exclusive adidas Originals Archive Kegler Super ‘Red/Yellow’ will be available via the size? previews app and in all size? stores on Friday 1st March, priced at £85.
