Nike x Carhartt WIP Collection

Share This:

It's been well over a decade since Nike and Carhartt WIP connected on an attainable footwear project - the last time being on the SB Dunk back in 2004 (no, we haven't forgotten the incredibly rare Air Jordan 4 'Eminem' release!) and the latest result is well worth the wait. The duo unite once again on a four shoe pack including 2 variations of the Air Force 1, an Air Max 95 and Vandal High. Following the theme of the brands previous collaborative work, each release features nods to Carhartt WIP's historical use of a select palette of colours, patterns, and materials since their beginning in 1989 as a lifestyle offshoot of the Detroit workwear brand. The Air Force 1 options are presented both as a classic Low, and as the new Utility silhouette that does away with the traditional lacing system and replaces it with a solid 'belt' style fastening. The Air Force 1 is the more traditional looking of the two, and takes elements from the classic Michigan Jackets and transfers them onto footwear. Hamilton Brown Canvas covers the upper, and the corduroy collar of the jacket has even been implemented onto the counter, finished off with a brass branded button to secure the heeltab. The Air Force 1 Low Utility switches things up with a Tiger Camo Ripstop used on the primary panels, highlighted by a vibrant Safety Orange swoosh printed onto the thick strap. The Nike Vandal has seen a comeback over the past year in amongst other collaborations and as inline releases, and makes an appearance in a solid black colourway within this pack. Once again, canvas is the primary material, with corduroy hits running along the gum midsole's trim and ankle strap. One of the standout shoes from the pack is the Air Max 95, which brings together both the ripstop and canvas elements and alternates them across the waved, ribcage inspired upper. Airbags and the signature swoosh branding brighten things up with hits of safety orange. The Carhartt WIP x Nike Collection will be available via the size? previews app and in selected size? stores on Thursday 6th December, priced at: Vandal High - £115, Air Force 1 Low - £120, Air Force 1 Low Utility - £130, and Air Max 95 - £140.
