Reebok Daytona DMX – size? Exclusive
After spending two decades out of the limelight, this summer saw sportswear giant Reebok reintroduce the Daytona DMX, a mid-90’s runner with a bold sports aesthetic.
Acclaimed footwear designer Christian Tresser pursued his craft working for Reebok throughout the 90’s – producing iconic running models such as the Aztrek before going on to release the Daytona DMX in 1996. This season, the silhouette’s bulky-yet-streamlined upper returns in a size? exclusive colourway. Taking design cues and colours from Reebok’s famed football boots, the Sidewinder, our exclusive Daytona DMX celebrates a golden era of English football. Drawing on the same striking ‘Primal Red’ and black Sidewinder colour palette, made famous by top-flight footballers throughout the Premiership in the 1990’s.
Re-imagined in a near-identical construct to the ’96 original, the Daytona DMX’s upper is built from a blend of nylon performance mesh to help keep your feet fresh and breathing with each step, added synthetic leather overlays provide durability and premium styling. Infused with technology to make your experience even greater, Tresser looked to the brand’s ‘Answer 1’ basketball sneaker for inspiration and encased the lace eyelets from the upper, helping to smooth out the trainer’s bulky design.
Another stand out feature of the Reebok Daytona DMX is boasted proudly on the removable insole graphic. Encased underfoot within the retro runner’s shock-absorbing EVA midsole lies the brand’s multi-chamber DMX ‘Moving Air’ technology. A system designed to transfer air between the heel and toe with each step, providing you with long-lasting cushioning.
The size? Exclusive Reebok Daytona DMX is available now via the size? website and in all size? stores, priced at £110.
