Bringing together both ends of the adidas Originals‘ technology spectrum, the I-5923 is the latest addition to the Boost family. Channeling aspects of past icons, the upper of the I-5923 brings back memories of shoes gone by, using signature design features exclusive to the brand and updating them for the modern day.

Taking its name from one of the many vintage articles within adidas’ extensive archive, the I-5923 is a hybrid shoe that features characteristics from classic 70’s runners, fused together with the latest contemporary technologies. Following on from the first size? Exclusive ‘Hawaiian Thunderstorm’ release back in March, we’re pleased to present part two of the pack, aptly named ‘Manchester Showers’.

The serrated stripe insignia has graced the uppers of classic football styles such as Samba, Dragon and Gazelle, as well as runners such as the SL72 and certain members of the ZX family. The use of suede and neoprene also harks back to a heralded era in adi footwear, with new styles being born every year.

In the present day, Boost has gone on to become one of the brands signature technologies, featuring heavily within it’s running output, as well as dabbling in both basketball and skateboarding categories as experiments to explore the potential of the cushioning. This marriage of both era’s results in a product that’s fully representative of where adidas Originals are at as a brand right now; Using their strong heritage of product to inform their current direction and innovative product range.

In contrast to the vibrant colours found on the previous release, the Manchester themed rendition includes three shades of grey to signify the doom and gloom of traditional northern weather. Adding a touch of colour, hits of lightning bolt yellow are featured on the branding, stripes and heeltab.

The size? Exclusive adidas Originals I-5923 ‘Manchester Showers’ will be available online at 8am and in all size? stores on Friday 18th May, priced at £100.
