The process is one of the most important elements of design in general, especially in the creation of a product. It’s the key ‘in-between’ part of getting from point A to point B, resulting in a final tangible ‘thing’ you can hold in your hand and value. Often when you look closer at the production processes in creating both footwear and garments, you’re sure to find similarities and techniques that crossover between each practice.
To draw parallels between both the concept and creation of a shoe, and the measurment and production of a bespoke suit, we sat down with Henry Poole’s Managing Director Simon Cundey, and adidas Originals Senior VP of Global Design Nic Galway to find out a bit more about each valuable process, and how the two parties have married perfectly for this collaboration.
