Nike Air Max 1 SC ‘Jewel’

Taking things back to the late 90’s with this latest release, Nike present their latest version of the Air Max 1 Jewel. Brought back in two stripped back colourways with white leather acting as the foundation, each pair comes with either a black or red accented detailing.

The Jewel swoosh was first introduced to Nike lifestyle models in the 90’s on the Air Force 1, and could also be found on both the Air Max 1 and Cortez during that period, acting as a luxurious update to performance icons. We’ve seen reissues of both the Uptown and Cortez recently, so it seems only fitting that 1987’s revolutionary should join the reunion.

Adding to the premium nature of the shoe, the normally solid outsole section has been replaced with an ice bottom, with oversized swoosh branding visible through the exterior. Uppers on each colourway are dressed in premium leather, and the new consumer driven shape takes it back to how an Air Max 1 should look.
