PUMA Basket Platform ‘Exotic’

An updated take on one of their classic low-top basketball silhouettes, the PUMA Basket Platform is a feminine rework of the 1968 court shoe. This time around a duo of exotic faux-animal skins have been applied to both black and tan colourways, bringing together the worlds of fashion and vintage sportswear.

We’ve seen a surge in popularity for these new hybrids in the past year thanks in part to Rihanna’s successful FENTY Creeper range together with PUMA. These new experiments take the classic low-profile of the Basket and combine it with the type of midsole typically seen on a Brothel Creeper, a much heavier elevated platform that accentuates the original. For this latest collection PUMA have created a pairing of tonal colourways that utilise a faux reptile skin material across the base layer of the upper. Brushed with gold along the edges of each scale, branding comes in the form of a tonal suede formstripe running up each side.
