ASICS Tiger – ’30 Years of GEL’ Pack
Running footwear has taken many twists and turns over the past century when it come’s to developing technology designed to enhance comfort. Some have worked, and some have flopped dramatically. One innovative invention that has stood the test of time for three decades now is Asics’ GEL System. Introduced to the public in 1986, the concept involved a responsive insert located inside the midsole, which acted as a cushioning implement to drastically improve comfort levels when the foot struck the floor.
To celebrate this milestone, ASICS Tiger have pulled together three of the best shoes from the 90’s era that perfectly capture the mentality behind the technology, The Gel Lyte III, Gel Lyte V, and GT Cool XPress. Each shoe from the pack is covered in the same set of materials arranged in varying combinations, with Sandwich mesh sitting beside a hardwearing coated leather, with noise-patterned sockliner graphic thrown in for good measure. The thematic colourway that runs through the past nods back to the original period of GEL, and the hues present throughout the era of the brand.
The ASICS Tiger ’30 Years of GEL’ pack launches online and in selected size? stores on Saturday 5th November.
