Puma Suede Season – Gabriella Marcella
Clear skies and dry surfaces, the prime factors that draw us outside into the urban environment, our creative playground. These conditions enhance the landscape around us, making it the perfect platform to showcase and put to play our skills, whether that’s practice hours or perfected execution. Lighting up asphalt surfaces, echoing off concrete and making our mark in human-made spaces, this is where you’ll find us when it’s Suede Season.
In the second installment of Suede Season, renowned graphic artist and Glaswegian print entrepreneur Gabriella Marcella shows us that putting a passion for colour in your everyday can be an inspiration to all when you put it on a wall. Whilst showcasing her skills for graphic art, Gabriella filled us in on her inspirations, the early days of her ascent to head honcho at Risotto Studio and how her love of bold tones doesn’t stop with her footwear.
Using a crisp white wall as her blank canvas, on the day of the shoot Gabriella transformed the space with a series of hand-painted graphics, applied with her trademark vibes. In true bold style as she set about creating not one but three identically sized murals presenting a spectrum of her playful pattern pieces, we got to know what makes the young artist tick. As she continues on her mission to revitalise the world around her with her own distinct aesthetic, always in hyper-colour, it’s clear Gabriella Marcella has a bright future ahead of her. The artist’s passion for injecting creativity into the public realm ripples head to toe, and through everything she touches.
