RECAP: CONS Project London closing party
Open for ten weeks, CONS Project London was a creative initiative from Converse previously set up in cities such as Brooklyn, Warsaw, Toronto and Los Angeles. The space in the heart of Peckham hosted events and workshops where attendees could learn a variety of new skills on a wide range of topics from skateboarding to music production and spoken word to film making. Each course was curated by practising professionals, with those interested able to attend for free.
Another addition to the venue was a impressive pop-up skatepark built at the back of the space. Designed by CONS UK pro Jerome Campbell, the park was custom built so that obstacles could be moved around to add creativity to a session, along with photorealisic 2D images pasted to the walls to make you feel as though you were out in the streets of London.
The closing party focused on the ‘Future Sounds’ currently shaping the UK music scene, with a headlining set from electronic duo Mount Kimbie accompanied by a specially commissioned visual piece created a local London artist. Lil Silva, Deadboy and Spencer also provided DJ sets making it a night to remember and a fitting end to the CONS Project tenancy in the UK.
