adidas Originals ‘Argyle Collection’
As part of adidas Originals 1984 Archive Series, adidas take inspiration from the 80’s Tennis scene to present their ‘Argyle Collection’. Incorporating the argyle pattern, an overlay of diamond motifs, the print adds a movement and energy when applied to the garments.
This print was a favourite of tennis and adidas icon Ivan Lendl, who famously wore the argyle polo shirt whilst playing in the 80’s. Once applied to adidas’ court essentials, the pattern effortlessly blends leisurewear and performance, giving the true adidas feel but with original 80’s styling.
The collection consists of two track tops, two polo shirts and two pairs of shorts. All the pieces draw from the same colour palette; using a white and a navy for the bases and the argyle pattern in a mixture of green, blue and white. Both track tops come packaged in a bespoke adidas Originals box, tonally branded with the 1984 Archive Series and Trefoil logos.
Both track tops are priced at £70, the polo’s are £50 and the shorts are £45 with the collection being available online and in selected stores now.
