adidas Originals Kopenhagen – size? exclusive
One of the most recognisable releases from adidas’ back catalogue, the Kopenhagen first debuted back in 1979 as part of the original ‘City Series’ collection, right at a time when adidas started to capitalize on the rising popularity in sportswear culture. It was initially launched as an all-purpose training shoe, but, like many other City Series releases, it’s true success came on the terraces where it was picked up by the casual movement due to it’s bright use of colour and clean design aesthetics.
Another feature that made the original Kopenhagen stand out was the lack of a blue colour pallet (the majority of City Series releases used a blue base) and it’s here that we’ve paid tribute to with the first of our two spring 2012 releases. Featuring a part perforated sand upper with contrasting dark brown stripes and gold branding, they release as part of our worldwide exclusive Adi’s Archive collaboration series with adidas Originals and will be available in limited numbers from size? stores and online on Friday 27th January.
The second colourway, which also falls under our Adi’s Archive banner, goes for more of a summer look and again features a suede upper (clear blue) with contrasting light grey leather accents and is scheduled to drop in March (date TBC).
