adidas Originals Gazelle Indoor – size? exclusive
The Gazelle indoor, what a shoe!
Originally released in 1979, this super lightweight silhouette was initially intended as an indoor training shoe for footballers and is perhaps most recognisable by it’s semi opaque cup sole, which the ‘Indoor’ traded with the famous vulcanised outsole of it’s ‘outdoor’ brother, the Gazelle OG. The addition of the new sole unit, which made the Gazelle Indoor 25% lighter, was not the only main feature, the extra addition of a Trefoil outsole helped ensure grip indoor and out resulting in the ‘Indoor’ becoming an instant hit on the terraces and amongst the rising casual movement of late 1970’s/early 80’s Britain.
Set to release soon as part of our worldwide exclusive Adi’s Archive collection with adidas Originals, the shoe you see above features a dark shale suede upper with contrasting chalk leather stripes, heel accent and lining, and very nice it is too!
There’s no news on the exact release date yet, but we can tell you the dark shale/chalk/gum Gazelle Indoor will be available from size? stores and online in limited numbers in the not so distant future. In the meantime, enjoy the snap and keep checking back for more info and imagery soon to be released….
