Vans: an interesting insight into the original skate brand

Originally known as the Van Doren Rubber Company, Vans was set up in Anaheim, California, in 1966 by Paul Van Doren. Throughout the following decades, Vans established itself as one of the market leaders in skate and BMX footwear and has successfully evolved over time whilst still staying true to its Californian roots.
Whilst scouring the net the other day we came across an interesting little Q & A with Steve Van Doren (Paul Van Doren’s son), who talks fondly of the early days at Vans and the work his farther did.
