DC LIFE Studio Shoe

New for autumn/winter 2011, US skate heavyweights; DC, introduce the Studio Shoe, a smooth/clean silhouette that DC claim is “For musicians, bloggers, producers, and photographers”, and that reflects the belief that the world has become a studio space, with more and more people using the Internet and digital media to imagine and create on the go.

Released under the ‘LIFE Collection’ banner, a collection of footwear designed for ‘Life Off The Board’, the Studio Shoe takes a new spin on the creativity found within the studio environment, and it’s driven by the same inspiration that’s become part of the culture around skateboarding.

When a sample arrived at size? HQ a few months ago, everyone was instantly impressed by the classic styling and minimal branding, but the one thing that got everyone taking was the material used in the upper, a material called ‘Bounce Suede’. Bounce suede is essentially a rubber coated suede that repels pretty much anything from water to dirt, but one of the key features of Bounce Suede is that it’s designed to help with the recovery of instep creases, which should help keep the uppers looking revived and fresh.
