The next installment to our size? Exclusive Ree/Cut collection together with Reebok is a women’s only rendition of the Phase 1 84. A product that sat alongside some of the other greats of the era, the Phase 1 is a prime example of how tennis shoes began getting more technical as time moved on. A two-piece midsole construction with foam lying in the centre added an extra element of cushioning upon impact, and a structured Hytrel heel stabiliser helped your foot remain stable. These elements working together helped with maneuverability around the court with ease and confidence.
For this latest release we looked to California’s sunny climate, and the vibrant colour palette that surrounds it. Known for sporting tradition, vibrant architecture, an eclectic music scene and diverse culture, sunny Cali and its creative scene is the reference point and inspiration for the latest Phase 1 Pro. The rendition takes heavy influence from the Californian 80s summer scene and the state’s sporting heritage. The Californian Summer ’84 has been released as part of Reebok’s Ree/Cut collection and to celebrate this the brand enlisted the help of mixed media artist, Rosanna Webster, to work on a series of exclusive posters.
The upper of the Reebok Californian Summer ’84 comprises of a traditional cream ‘glove’ leather stretching across every panel, while bright pink, orange and mint green hits have been layered into the midsole unit and heel counter. The materials switch up on the inside of the shoe, with a traditional plush toweling lining featured on the sockliner and insole.
