Releasing during the “Golden Era” of the Air Max 1, the original release of the ‘Dark Curry’ Air Max 1 in 2003 was well received for its muted tones and high quality craftsmanship. 15 years after its original run, Nike return with the beloved colourway. Most of us in the West might be surprised to find that Japan has a long history with the fiery dish. Having been introduced to Indian curry through the British, it was originally thought of as a Western dish but has since taken a character of its own in the Far East. Taking its shade from the Japanese variant of the dish, the ‘Dark Curry’ colourway features toned down brown hues and is accented with hits of blue on the tongue and eyelets. Joining the original Dark Curry colourway this year are the ‘Red Curry’ and ‘Green Curry’ iterations. Taking inspiration from the Thai interpretations of the world’s most popular dish, the red variant features ‘pale vanilla’ mesh uppers and a shade of ‘tough red’ coating the suede mudguard and overlays. Completing the pack is the Green Curry model boasting a breathable grey mesh base with ‘Olive Flak’ dressing the more durable areas. ‘Habanero Red’ hits adorn the tongue and eyelets complementing the subtle green hues. The Nike Air Max 1 'Curry' is available online and in selected size? stores now,  priced at £130.
