This Week’s adidas Originals NMD Releases

The NMD family has become undoubtedly one of the most popular creations to come from adidas Originals this year, and they’re certainly showing no signs of slowing down. We take a closer look at some of the latest versions of the NMD set to launch at size? next week.
The newest addition to the ever-expanding Boost family, the adidas Originals NMD XR-1 continues to build on the futuristic foundation NMD has already laid. This new rendition adds a plastic support cage around the midfoot area, improving stability across the upper and adding strength to the overall design. The Boston/Micropacer inspired rectangular plugs are still present within the midsole, protruding outwards from the cushioned Boost foam.
Primeknit spans the whole of the upper, decorated with a linear pattern running across the entire one piece panel. A leather heel-cup sweeps around the back for extra support, and the bi-lingual pull tab we’ve seen on previous NMD releases has also been included, weaving in and out of the leather.
Varying in material to the XR-1, the R1 is made up from a combination of neoprene around the heel area, with a flexible mesh forming the sidewalls and toebox. Striped branding across the side has been fused on using a flattened reflective tape material, and a plastic heel counter adds extra support.
Joining the above releases are womens specific colourways of the XR-1 and R1 (not pictured) which will be available online and from selected size? stores.
