Nike Cortez QS ‘Natural Motion’

The Nike Cortez has had one of the most iconic silhouettes from the brands back catalogue of running legends since its conception back in 1972. It changed the sport of running forever with its revolutionary dual density foam sole unit and mixed nylon and suede constructed upper, a deadly combination that instantly cast a shadow across the running world for many years to come.

Along with a star-studded appearance in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Forest Gump’, in which Tom Hanks runs across America in a pair of Nike Cortez, the legendary silhouette has been given its fair share of hybrid mock-ups, including the 2009 Flywire option. This minimalistic version featured a traditional base that utilised the original sole unit and essentially cut it up, creating a Free-inspired version, aptly named ‘Natural Motion’. Continuing this legacy, we are happy to present the latest in the series.

With a blend of nylon and suede, celebratory to Bill Bowerman’s first track creation, it also features a modernised application of 3M throughout, whether it’s the subtle accents around the toe and heel, or the fully reflective tongue piece, this is definitely an icon reborn for the 21st Century.

The Nike Cortez Quickstrike ‘Natural Motion’ is now available online and in selected size? stores, priced at £ 80 and in UK sizes 6.5 – 13.
