PUMA SF ’77 reissue

Back in 1977, when the famed racing horse Red Rum had just won the Grand National in Liverpool and Elvis Presley was getting ready for his last ever concert, German-sportswear brand PUMA was releasing its iconic running silhouette aptly named the SF ‘77.

The basic runner featured a supple upper constructed of premium suede and nylon mesh – both popular choices for joggers and elite runners alike, and fitted perfectly into the mix of leisure styles available. It also had an upper-hand compared to its competitors due to its stripped down design featuring simple aesthetics such as exposed foam padding, while sitting enforcing a full range of sport-specific aspects from the supportive suede overlays to the flattened herringbone outsole. The 1977 model delivered a distinctive style that clearly stood out and because of this, we couldn’t be happier that PUMA has decided to bring it back for 2013.

Presented in two of the original colourways, the PUMA SF ’77 is now available in all size? stores and online, a priced at £50 in sizes 6 – 11 (UK).
